Getting the Pitcher

Now I get to dive into all the little objects that should populate my fantasy world.  Our fantasy story includes bedrooms, kitchens, palace quarters, common quarters and secret meeting halls.  The variety of objects that need to be captured is a bit overwhelming so it's time to start at the beginning.  While rummaging through my favorite thrift store I came across this very common looking pitcher.  It's perfect.  Nothing flowery, just utilitarian.  This will go perfect all over the place. :)  Enjoy!

Wooden Bowl

Here is a beautiful wooden bowl model.  This has such rich wood texture.  I think it came out great!

Bowled Container

This was such a fun find because it is carved out of a single piece of wood and is definitely a hand made piece with organic imperfections all over.  Just a fantastic piece that is still ambiguous enough to live in a fantasy world and not feel too Indian or African or anything specific.  Enjoy!

Leather Container

This fantastic leather container was great to scan.  It came out really well and I got to do a metal texture for the brassy elements on it.  I really like how this one turned out and it's a great addition to the collection. :)

Wooden Candlestick

Here is a simple wooden candlestick for the collection.  Originally it was rather smooth but I felt that detracted from the period/fantasy feeling that I want this piece to evoke so I displaced the wood grain texture into the surface geometry to give it a slightly more rustic finish.

Gold Candlestand

Processing this subject was difficult because I could not get the photos of the interior of the top to align with the rest.  I was forced to do that manually.  But it still came out great and I always love playing with metallic textures.  it was hard to keep the tarnishing look without it just looking dirty.  I think it landed pretty close to the look of the original subject.

Decorative Platter/Shield

This subject is actually a bit large and I had trouble scanning it because of the sharp edge.  I often end up having to fuse two sides.  But I finally figured out how to align in Meshlab (no small feat with all of it's quirky ways).  So here it is.
